Editorial Policy

How Legion I.O.T chooses topics, finds sources, writes articles and fixes mistakes.

Choosing what to cover

We cover technologies that connect physical devices, data and money. Priority goes to topics where reliable public sources exist, such as central banks, standards bodies, international organisations, peer-reviewed or conference papers and regulators. We avoid hype and token promotion, and a project’s advertising or affiliate potential is not a reason to cover it.

Sources

Deep dives are built from named primary documents, which are listed under “Sources” at the end of each article with a link where an official copy is available. Where a source was commissioned or sponsored by a company with an interest in the subject, we say so in the article. Statements about the current world, such as prices or who holds an office, are checked against current sources or labelled with the date they were true.

Original writing

We do not copy text from sources. We summarise, explain and compare in our own words, and quote only very short phrases when the exact wording matters. Diagrams are drawn by us from the facts in the sources.

Use of AI tools

Drafting is assisted by AI tools working from the cited documents, and articles are published under the Legion I.O.T editorial byline. We treat the source documents, not the tools, as the authority, and every article lists its sources so you can check it for yourself.

Commercial relationships

Advertising and affiliate links are separate from editorial content. Links that may earn a commission are labelled “Sponsored” and use rel="sponsored".

Prices and live data

Cryptocurrency prices come from CoinGecko (with DefiLlama as a backup), network data from public blockchain data services, and headline lists from Hacker News, central bank news feeds and the OpenAlex research index, all loaded in your browser. They are indicative and may be delayed, and they are not investment advice.

Corrections

If you find an error, use the contact form and include the page address and the correct information if you have it. When we change an article materially we update the date shown on it.
